Alister Stevenson
Director

Alister has more than 30 years of Agri business accounting experience. He joined Alexanders in 1994 after 10 years with the PGG Trust, and has been a Director here since 2001.
Alister’s main area of responsibility is the preparation and review of clients of annual financial statements and specialised project type work.
He works directly with our clients to improve and enhance the success of their business and loves nothing more than an on-farm visit.
Outside of work, Alister is an active member of the current Touch NZ referee coaching advisory group and also holds a position on the Federation of international Touch referee coaching advisory panel.

Karen Prue
Director

Karen has been part of the team at Alexanders since 2003 and became a Director and Shareholder in 2018.
She achieved her Associated Chartered Accountants qualification in 2009, completed a Bachelor of Applied Management majoring in Accounting in 2014, and completed her CA qualifications and Certificate of Public Practice in June 2017.
Karen enjoys working closing with Agri and Business clients to support and understand their business needs. This includes succession work, various project work and the review of Annual Financial Statements. Being able to visit clients and see their business operations is an added bonus.
Outside of work, Karen is actively involved in Rotary, loves the outdoors and has an extended family that keep her busy.

Pita Alexander
Consultant

The name behind the firm, Pita Alexander started as a sole practitioner 50 years ago. Pita has experienced the famous “boom and bust” cycles of farming.
Pita wants agribusinesses to succeed and is dedicated to the financial success of his clients. Many young farm accountants have benefitted under Pita’s tutelage. His contribution to farming has been recognised with several awards, the latest being an ONZM honour in 2010.
Pita is fond of travelling and loves his “farm study tours” to Australia and the US.

Jacquie Carroll
Practice Manager

Born and raised in Christchurch, Jacquie spent her early career in Christchurch and Wellington, then moved to the UK at the end of 1999. The focus of her career in the UK was running Administration and Office Support teams within the Recruitment and Property Investment industries.
Jacquie joined Alexanders in November 2022.
When not at work, Jacquie enjoys spending time with her Partner and two dachshunds, exploring the South Island, good food and good wine.

Gendie Woods
Accountant

Gendie has had over 30 years of Farm Accounting experience having obtained a B.Com(Ag) from Lincoln University in 1989 and also has her CA membership to the Chartered Accountants of Australia & NZ.
She joined Alexanders in January 1996 after a year overseas and prior to that 6 years at Price Waterhouse
Gendie’s areas of responsibility include annual financial statement preparation, GST return preparation, assisting clients with their cashbooks, dealing with the IRD and client liaison.
Gendie and her husband Mark have two adult daughters who have careers in agriculture & medicine.
She also has a number of interests outside of work including holding several volunteer treasurer roles and is a member of the South Island Rowing Board.
Gendie manages to fit in skiing, masters rowing and the local gym when she is not attending meetings!

Michelle Jones
Accountant

Michelle has had over 25 years farm accounting experience. She joined the team at Alexanders in May 1996 after spending 5 years working in Whangarei Northland. Michelle obtained her BCom (Ag) at Lincoln University in 1990 and has her CA membership to the Chartered Accountants of Australia & NZ.
Michelle grew up in Oamaru and her interests include playing and supporting squash, overseas travel and experiences, walking her dog, movies and quilting.
Michelle's areas of responsibility is annual Financial Statement preparation, GST return preparation, Client Liaison, ACC, and IRD queries and she enjoys the challenges they provide.

Heather Robb
Accountant

Heather joined Alexanders in June 2011 and bring more than 20 years of experience working in Chartered Accounting firms, both here in Christchurch and the North Island and has a passion for rural sector accounting. She also spent several years hands on dairy, sheep and beef farming.
She also enjoys playing badminton, getting outdoors and watching sports – especially rugby and rugby league and likes to spend her spare time with her grown children.

Mike Harrow
Accountant

Mike has been a qualified Chartered Accountant since August 2011 who also has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Canterbury University and Bachelor of Commerce from Lincoln University. He has worked in accounting for 15 years in various roles that have included Management Accounting at a Place Makers branch and at the Chateau on the Park Hotel in Christchurch. He has also worked for several years in Business Advisory Services for Accounting firms around Christchurch.
Mike’s areas of responsibility includes annual Financial Statement preparation, dealing with the IRD and client liaison.
A born and bred Cantabrian; Mike has a love of cricket, football and anything relating to science fiction. Married to Rachel, Mike has three fast-growing children who keep him busy as a taxi service supporting their love of sports, music and cultural activities. When he has time for himself, Mike likes to try cooking for the family and keeps the garden tidy every now and again.

Suzy Herrick
Accountant

Suzy returned to join Alexanders in August 2019, after working in the accounting industry in Timaru for 5 years. Suzy is an Accounting Technician and has a New Zealand Diploma in Accounting and a New Zealand Diploma in Management.
She has had many years’ experience in various roles of Management Accounting and office administration in the private commercial sector and accounting firms.
Suzy grew up on the West Coast so has an understanding of the agricultural sector.
Her areas of responsibility include annual Financial Statement preparation, specialising in using Xero and training others to use Xero.

Lidwina Nolan
Accountant

Lidwina joined Alexanders in August 2019 as an Accountant and has her CA membership to the Chartered Accountants of Australia & New Zealand.
She has had experience working in accounting and finance with her previous jobs in in Chartered Accounting firms, Otago Regional Council and has also worked in manufacturing and multinational companies; both in New Zealand and overseas.
Lidwina completed her study at the Otago University and previously lived in Dunedin before moving up to Christchurch.
Her areas of responsibility include annual Financial Statement preparation, GST return preparation, IRD queries and client liaison.
Lidwina loves to travel and also enjoys reading, playing with her dogs and catching up with friends.

Ash Bejoy

Ash grew up on the West Coast before heading to Christchurch to complete his studies at the University of Canterbury. After graduating, he returned home to the West Coast, where he spent seven years working at a chartered accountancy firm, building a strong foundation. Ash holds a CA membership with Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand.
Having recently made the move back to Christchurch to join Alexanders, Ash brings with him seven years of hands-on experience alongside a genuine understanding of provincial and rural clients from his time working on the West Coast.

Kimberley Sinclair
Client Systems & Support Specialist

Kimberley joined Alexanders in March 2012, after graduating with a Bachelor of Applied Management majoring in Accounting from Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology.
Her areas of responsibility include; leading the Accounting Support team, GST return preparation, and Software Support for Farm Focus, Xero, and MYOB.
Outside of work Kimberley spends her time with her husband and 2 greyhounds, the greyhound rehoming agency Nightrave Greyhounds, and doing charity work for Huntingtons Disease Association Christchurch.

Emma
Client Systems & Support Specialist

Emma joined Alexanders in October 2023 and brings 20 years of experience with customer liaison focusing on business startup before finding a passion for accounting support.
Her areas of responsibility include Tax, GST return preparation and general accounting support.
Emma was raised on a sheep farm in the Banks Peninsula. She is kept on her toes with a toddler and dog but when she finds the time, loves to go to a nice restaurant or a concert with her husband.

Kim Price

Kim joined Alexanders in April 2024 and brings 30 years experience in business administration support roles.
Kim’s areas of responsibility include GST return preparation, accounting support and preparing financial documentation.
Originally from Wellington, Kim has been dairy farming in Canterbury with her husband since 2006. When she’s not at work, Kim enjoys spending time with her twin teenagers, husband, 3 cats, and catching up with friends over a wine or two

Wendy McGregor

Wendy joined Alexanders in 2011 as Office Administrator and covers a variety of areas to help the office run smoothly at all times.
She enjoys family time with her three adult children and grandchildren, vegetable and flower gardening, knitting and walking on the beach.

Melissa Peters
Admin Support

Melissa rejoined the workforce with Alexanders in August 2023 after having some time off to have her daughter in November 2022.
She previously worked for Diabetes Christchurch as the Financial and Office Coordinator where she was responsible for the accounts of the Society and all related financial and office administration. She continues to assist with fundraising and events activities.
Melissa works part time for Alexanders and is responsible for setting up new clients, AML, preparing and sending out financial statements and helps with accounting support and other project work when required.
